Cannetille is a technique of jewelry making that creates tiny beehives, spirals and intricate work with fine wires of gold or silver. It was primarily used at the beginning of the 19th century when gold was scarce (given in by the people to fund the war efforts during the Napoleonic conflicts that raged during those years).

Cannetille looks so sumptuous yet is light and wearable. Jewelers no longer have the time or expertise to endeavor to master this consummate skill.
