Alluring and dangling, the sections of the two-part earring are appointed with four oval faceted pink topaz, total of 3.5 carats. Pink topaz was among the favored gems of the era and today very scarce to find in these ethereal light pink tones.
Supremely elegant, the two part articulated earrings show off 15k yellow gold repousse work - decorative embossing of thin sheets of metal. This technique allowed for lengthy earrings to be worn without the burden of weight nor the extensive use of gold which was scarce at the time.
Embellished with scrolls and tendrils of gold, the highly dimensional embossed designs reflect ribbon and floral forms. A classic archetype of the 1830s to the 1840s.
